Virtual Assessments
Minor ailment virtual assessments are provided through our sister pharmacy, Silver Scripts. Silver Scripts in an online pharmacy that brings together pharmacists and patients throughout Ontario for virtual consultation and assessments. You can consult with our pharmacists virtually using a smartphone, tablet or computer.
To book a virtual consultation with our pharmacists you must
Be 18 years of age or older
*Those under 18 can still be assessed if consent is provided by a parent/guardian
Have any of the 19 medical conditions classified as a minor ailment
Have a valid OHIP card
Minor ailments are described as health conditions that can be managed with minimal treatment and/or self-care strategies, and currently include:
Acne
Presence of whiteheads and blackheads
Small red bumps and pimples with pus
Aphthous Ulcers (canker sores)
Painful and shallow white- or cream-coloured ulcers with a raised red border that are round or oval
Presence of ulcers inside cheeks, lips, tongue, roof, and floor of the mouth
Diaper Dermatitis
Rashes and redness of skin in the diaper area
Pain and crying while urinating, diaper changes and during defecating.
Nausea and vomiting of pregnancy
Nausea or vomiting at any time of the day due to pregnancy
Not able to keep food or drink down for more than 12 hours
Pinworms and threadworms
Detection of worms in stool or near anus
Anal itching, especially at night
Trouble sleeping, restlessness
Vulvovaginal candidiasis (yeast infection)
Thick, white, odor-free vaginal discharge with a cottage cheese appearance
Itching, burning, rash or redness of vaginal area
Pain during urination and/or sexual intercourse
Allergic Rhinitis
Sneezing
Stuffy nose or runny nose
Itchy nose, eye, or throat
Typically, more than 7 days of continuous symptoms
Conjunctivitis
Eye redness and difficulty opening eyes in the morning
Appearance of sticky or watery fluids from the eye
Appearance of sticky or watery fluids from the eye
Bright lights hurt your eyes
Dermatitis
Dry, red, and itchy skin
Cracked and oozed blisters
Darker or lighter patches of skin
Scaly and patchy skin
Impetigo
Bump that changes into a blister surrounded by rash
Yellow discharge that dries to form a “golden” or “honey-coloured” crust
Can affect face, arms or legs
Cold Sores
Rash or bump around border of the lip
Presence of clear, sticky fluid around the rash
Itching, tingling, or burning may lead to the rash
Redness or inflamed skin around the rash
Thrush
White or creamy-white spots / patches on the lips, inside of mouth, tongue and /or the roof of the mouth
Cottage cheese-like appearance
Patches can be scraped off
Dry mouth and / or loss of taste
Hemorrhoids
Itching, burning or swollen (with or without pain) around the anal / rectum area
Bright red blood during / after bowel movement
Constipation and difficulty in having a bowel movement
Presence of a lump in the anal / rectum area
GERD
Burping / stomach acid rise from the stomach into the mouth
Burning feeling in the stomach or lower chest rising to the neck
Trouble getting a good night’s sleep because of heartburn
Pain in the middle of the upper stomach area
Nausea
Sprains
& Strains
Pain, swelling or tenderness (light to medium)
Redness or bruising
Limited motion and muscle weakness
Injury is associated with overworking or muscle / joint injured
Tick Bite
(Lyme disease Prevention)
A red lump present, but swelling, blistering, bruising, itching or other infections may develop
Mild allergic reaction (hives, rash, and light swelling at the bite site)
Dysmenorrhea (Painful Menstrual Cramps)
Pain and cramps in the lower abdominal area
Pain in the lower back and starting a few hours before onset of a period
Pain can last a few hours to days
Urinary Tract Infections
Frequent urination, pain while urinating and difficulty holding in urine
Pain in lower abdomen and a small amount of blood in the urine
Absence of vaginal discharge
Cloudy or foul-smelling urine
Insect bites and urticaria (hives)
You may experience some of the symptoms below:
Batches of welts (wheals) that can arise anywhere on the body
Symptoms that persist for more than six weeks and recur often and anytime
Mild allergic reaction (hives, rash, and light swelling at the bite site)
Flare ups triggered by heat, exercise or stress
Painful swelling the eyes, cheeks or lips
A red lump present, but swelling, blistering, brusing, itching or other infections may develop
Welts that vary in size, change shape, and appear and fade repeatedly
Welts that might be red, purple or skin-coloured, depending on your skin tone

The pharmacist will speak with you about your concerns. Depending on your needs, the pharmacist may suggest either of the following next steps:
- Issue you a prescription to start your recommended treatment
- Ask you to see your family doctor or visit a walk-in clinic
- Ask you to go to your nearest Emergency Departing
- Recommend self-care measures and/or over-the-counter items that do not require a prescription, if appropriate
Yes! Our goal is to take care of all your health and wellness needs. Silver Scripts Pharmacy will deliver your medications right to your door. However, you also have the option to get your prescription filled at any pharmacy in Ontario.
Yes! We are a fully accredited pharmacy. Please let us know if you’d like to transfer your prescriptions to us and we’ll take care of the rest.
Yes, you can book an appointment for a family member. When you are filling out the booking form, you can provide your own name as the contact, and your Family member’s name and information as the patient. The appointment link will be sent to the email address provided in the intake form.
